J just asked me how many more days I have of writing. It’s hard to believe there’s only six days left of the challenge. I’m so grateful for what it’s done for me.
I’ve made some really fantastic connections in the blogosphere, I’ve reunited with a number of dear old friends, I’ve relived several wonderful memories and I’ve been extremely disciplined. I’ve also learned how to enjoy writing again. Just for me.
Sure, it’s been a hassle on days such as this one when I’m exhausted and busy and don’t have energy to pour into it. But I’m living my story by telling these stories. And that makes it worth it.
Tomorrow I’ll see the family I’m always writing about. My family. It’s been a year. The only immediate family member I’ve mentioned briefly here and there but haven’t written about yet is my sister. Why? It’s difficult for me to decide where to begin with her. She’s the most incredible person I’ve ever met. While I’m smitten with my brother, I’ve always idolized my sister. I’m jumping out of my skin with excitement to see her and her kids and our parents. I’m ready for my family fill-up.
Wish J, Jett and I a safe drive tomorrow. I can only imagine the stories that will come out of it. Meet me here tomorrow night for details. I’ll bring the brownies and Diet Pepsi. You bring the shoulder for me to cry on. It’s going to be tough saying goodbye to them after such a brief visit.
